CHRISTIAN D. LARSON
AUTHOR

These pages are dedicated to Christian D. Larson, a great and very influential New Thought leader and teacher, as well as a prolific New Thought writer who believed that people have tremendous hidden abilities that can be used for success if approached properly.
He speaks of this approach as follows: "Follow the light of the spirit in all things and rely on God in all things, choose the living Christ as your model in all things and rely on God in all things. Seek not the truth, seek the spirit of truth. The spirit leads into all truth. To know the truth is to know the way. To be led by the spirit into all truth is to walk in the light of the spirit all the way, and the way of eternal life then leads into the kingdom of eternal life. The greater life of Christ follows this light, which is revealed through the spiritual vision of the soul, there is the gate that leads to life, and all who are in the spirit will find it even now."
THE WAY OF THE ROSE.
In 1912, Christian D. Larson wrote the "Optimist Creed" and it appeared in his book Your Strengths and How to Use Them. It was adopted as the creed of Optimist International in 1922. Many have found inspiration in "The Optimist Creed" In hospitals, this creed is used to help patients recover from illness. In locker rooms, coaches have used it to motivate their players. The following version is quoted from Science of Mind 71 (June 1998):
Promise yourself:
To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk about health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet. To make all your friends feel that they have something worth having.
To look at everything from the sun and fill your optimism.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.
To be as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and throw yourself into greater achievements of the future.
To always wear a cheerful expression and spread a smile to every living creature you meet.
To give so much time to self-improvement that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too big to worry, too noble to be angry, too strong to be afraid, and too happy to admit the presence of difficulties.
To think well of yourself and proclaim this fact to the world not with loud words, but with great actions.
To live in the belief that the whole world is on your side if you are true to the best that is in you.

THIS BOOK IS A MESSAGE FOR ALL WHO SEEK FREEDOM FROM LIMITATIONS.
CHRISTIAN D. LARSON KNOWS THE CLEAR PATH, HE HAS WALKED IT HIMSELF, AND IN THIS BOOK HE SHOWS YOU THE DIRECTION TO YOUR SECRET PLACE WITHIN YOU WHERE EVERYTHING IS ALWAYS OKAY.
And all we needs must do is simply this, to know that this most sacred realm is here within the spirit of us all. Know that the secret places are within the highest spirit of your soul, and you have found the way. But there must be no doubt—never the least shadow of a doubt. If there be doubt the knowing is not complete; and knowing is not knowing unless it is complete. Know therefore that there is a world within you where all is always well, and you have found the key that can unlock the gate.
Henceforth, you may, at any time, take refuge there within the soul, where ills and pains can never come—where grief and wrong can never enter —where sins and tribulations are as naught. The only barriers to that fair kingdom are made of mental states that do not know. Therefore, to him who knows, and knows so deeply and so well that doubt has ceased to be, such barriers are no more. To him the way is cleared; the gates are wide ajar; and he may go and come according to his will.
The first great truth that we must know is this, that all is possible when we know. And the second is akin to this, declaring with conviction and with power, that all things are truly possible, even now. The only obstacle in the world is doubt the only barrier is not to know. It is only doubt ; and mental darkness that holds the human race in weakness, and that causes man to live in limitations.
These therefore must be put away; and when they are, the soul of man shall rise to greater heights and richer splendors than even seers have seen before. The visions of the prophets shall be surpassed, and the highest regions of life that thought has ever pictured for the future goal of man, shall prove to be no more than early steps in the soul's triumphant flight.
It is when we know that we know the way; for when we know, it is then we are in the light ; and he who is in the light can see most clearly
where to go, and how and when. Know therefore that there is a sacred realm within where all is always well, and you shall see the way. It is this knowing that has given you the light and ; he who has the light will need no further guidance.
Wherever we may be today, this message should be taken to the heart, and made a part of life. For it is true that man can even now be free; there is a realm within his soul where freedom is and ever more shall be. And every soul, by knowing this, can enter there today. It is what all the world should know. It is a message we should all proclaim—declaring with conviction and with power—there is a realm within us all where all is always well.
It is the secret places where God abides in man, and where we
meet Him face to face. It is where God and man commune in spirit and in truth —where all that is in God is given unto man—where the soul comes forth in wisdom and in glory, knowing that the human is divine. And that which is divine must needs have peace and joy and freedom evermore.

THIS BOOK IS A MESSAGE FOR ALL WHO HAVE DECIDED TO GROW UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR CONDITIONS IN LIFE INTO THEIR HANDS. THAT IS TO RECEIVE CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO DISCIPLINE THE MIND AND CO-CREATE YOUR MANIFESTED LIFE WITH THE SOURCE OF ALL GOOD. IN THIS BOOK, CHRISTIAN D. LARSON EXPLAINS WORKING WITH THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND AND HOW TO THINK AND FEEL RIGHTLY SO THAT YOUR MANIFESTATIONS ARE GOOD AND PERFECT.
FOREWORD
This book by metaphysical author Christian D. Larson explains the process by which we can physically manifest all that we desire in our lives by working with the subconscious.
The book is a refreshing and clear exploration of the conscious and subconscious, the law of attraction, and the inner and outer aspects of the human mind, but it focuses only on the subconscious and conscious. One who has entered the superconscious can work with this book because he is already in his rightful place of the IMPERSONAL LIFE.
For others, it is just a personal view of manifestation.
Florence Scovel Shine in her book THE GAME OF LIFE AND HOW TO PLAY IT shows the entire creation of the Impersonal Life. Joseph S. Benner in his book The Way Out also.
Florence Scovel Shine speaks of the mind in her book as follows:
There are three departments of the mind, the subconscious, the conscious, and the superconscious. The subconscious is simply a force, without direction. It is like steam or electricity, and it does what it is designed to do; it has no inductive power.
Whatever a man feels deeply or clearly imagines is impressed upon the subconscious and carried out in the smallest detail.
The conscious mind has been called the mortal or carnal mind. It is the human mind and sees life as it appears to be. It sees death, disasters, sickness, poverty and limitations of every kind and impresses itself upon the subconscious.
The superconscious mind is the Mind of God in every man and is the realm of perfect ideas. There is in it the "perfect pattern" spoken of by Plato, the Divine design; for there is a divine purpose for every man.

The proper conditions for recording an impression upon the subconscious are deep feeling, strong desires, conscious interest and a living faith. When these are blended harmoniously in the conscious actions of mind the subconscious will be directed and impressed properly and the desired response will invariably appear.
The principal essential, however, is deep feeling; no idea or desire can enter the subconscious unless it is deeply felt, and every idea or desire that is deeply felt will enter the subconscious of itself, whether or not we desire to have it do so.
It is through this law that man is affected by his environments, surroundings and external conditions, because whenever he permits himself to be deeply impressed by that with which he may come in contact those impressions will enter the subconscious.
What enters the subconscious of any mind will become a part of that mind, and will, to a degree, affect the nature, the character, the quality, the thoughts and the actions of that mind.
When the subconscious is impressed by external conditions the impressions will be like those conditions and, as like produces like, conditions will be produced in the subconscious that are exactly like those external conditions from which the impressions came.
The individual, therefore, who permits his subconscious to be indiscriminately impressed by external conditions will think and act, more or less, as his environments may suggest. In many respects his life will be controlled completely by those persons and things with which he may come in contact, while in nearly all other respects his life will be greatly modified by the presence of those persons and things.
