He was born on February 19, 1905 in St. Michael in Barbados and spent most of his adult life in the United States, where he became known for his teachings on the law of attraction, manifestation, and the power of imagination.

Goddard's teaching was based on the idea that our thoughts create our reality. He believed that the physical world is a reflection of our inner world and that we can change our outer circumstances by changing our thoughts and beliefs. He taught that the key to manifesting our desires is to use our imaginations to visualize what we want as if it has already happened. One of Goddard's most famous teachings was the concept of "living at the end."

This meant that instead of focusing on our current reality, we should focus on the end result we want to achieve. By visualizing ourselves as having already achieved our goals, we can create the necessary beliefs and feelings to turn them into reality. Goddard also emphasized the importance of feeling as if our desires have already been fulfilled. He believed that the feelings we feel when visualizing our desires are the key to manifesting them.

By experiencing the feelings of joy, gratitude, and fulfillment that come with achieving our goals, we can attract these experiences into our lives. In addition to his teachings on manifestation and the law of attraction, Goddard was also known for his interpretations of biblical scriptures. He believed that the stories in the Bible were not meant to be taken literally, but rather as metaphors for the inner workings of the human mind. He taught that the characters in the Bible are symbols of our own thoughts and beliefs, and that by understanding the deeper meanings of the stories, we can gain insight into our own spiritual journeys.

One reason for Goddard's enduring popularity is his emphasis on personal responsibility. He believed that we are the creators of our own reality and that we have the power to shape our lives through our thoughts and beliefs. He taught that we should take responsibility for our thoughts and emotions and use them to create the life we want to live.

Today there is so much said about Masters, Elder Brothers, Adepts and initiates that numberless truth seekers are being constantly misled by seeking these false lights. For a price, most of these pseudoteachers offer their students initiation into the mysteries, promising them guidance and direction, Man's weakness for leaders, as well as his worship of idols, makes him an easy prey of these schools and teachers. There is only one Master and this Master is God, the I AM within themselves.

God speaks to you through the medium of your basic desires. Your basic desires are words of promise or prophecies that contain within themselves the plan and power of expression.

By basic desire is meant your real objective. Secondary desires deal with the manner of realization. God, your I AM, speaks to you, the conditioned conscious state, through your basic desires. Secondary desires or ways of expression are the secrets of your I AM, the all wise Father. Your Father, I AM, reveals the first and last – "I am the beginning and the end" [Revelation 1:8, 22:13] – but never does He reveal the middle or secret of His ways; that is, the first is revealed as the word, your basic desire. The last is its fulfillment – the word made flesh. The second or middle (the plan of unfoldment) is never revealed to man but remains forever the Father's secret.

"I and my father are one but my father is greater than I."

You are one with your present conception of yourself. But you are greater than that which you are at present aware of being.

Before man can attempt to transform his world he must first lay the foundation – "I AM the Lord."

That is, man's awareness, his consciousness of being is God. Until this is firmly established so that no suggestion or argument put forward by others

can shake it, he will find himself returning to the slavery of his former beliefs.

"If ye believe not that I AM he, ye shall die in your sins."

That is, you shall continue to be confused and thwarted until you find the cause of your confusion. When you have lifted up the son of man then shall you know that I AM he, that is, that I, John Smith, do nothing of myself, but my father, or that state of consciousness which I am now one with does the works.

When this is realized every urge and desire that springs within you shall find expression in your world."Behold I stand at the door and knock. If any man hear my voice and open the door I will come in to him and sup with him and he with me."

A miracle is the name given, by those who have no faith, to the works of faith.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Heb. 11:1.

The very reason for the law of assumption is contained in this quotation. If there were not a deep-seated awareness that that which you hope for had substance and was possible of attainment, it would be impossible to assume the consciousness of being or having it. It is the fact that creation is finished and everything exists that stirs you to hope — and hope, in turn, implies expectation, and without expectation of success it would be impossible to use consciously the law of assumption. "Evidence" is a sign of actuality. Thus, this quotation means that faith is the awareness of the reality of that which you assume, [a conviction of the reality of things which you do not see, the mental perception of the reality of the invisible].

Consequently, it is obvious that a lack of faith means disbelief in the existence of that which you desire. Inasmuch as that which you experience is the faithful reproduction of your state of consciousness, lack of faith will mean perpetual failure in any conscious use of the law of assumption.

No idea can be impressed on the subconscious until it is felt, but once felt – be it good, bad or indifferent – it must be expressed.

Feeling is the one and only medium through which ideas are conveyed to the subconscious.

Therefore, the man who does not control his feeling may easily impress the subconscious with undesirable states. By control of feeling is not meant restraint or suppression of your feeling, but rather the disciplining of self to imagine and entertain only such feeling as contributes to your happiness.

Control of your feeling is all important to a full and happy life.

Never entertain an undesirable feeling, nor think sympathetically about wrong in any shape or form.

"Thou shalt decree a thing and it shall be established unto thee."

It is not a strong will that sends the subjective word on its mission, so much as it is clear thinking and feeling, the truth of the state affirmed. When belief and will are in conflict, belief invariably wins.

"Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts."

It is not what you want that you attract; you attract what you believe to be true.

Therefore, get into the spirit of these mental conversations and give them the same degree of reality that you would a telephone conversation.

"If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Therefore, I say unto you, what things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that ye received them, and ye shall have them." The acceptance of the end wills the means. And the wisest reflection could not devise more effective means than those which are willed by the acceptance of the end. Mentally talk to your friends as though your desires for them were already realized.

One Father made us all to live, move and have our being in Him the One. Who then is this ONE that we have in common? The one and only thing all men have in common is this, all men know that they are. This claim that we are, this awareness, is our Father.

There is no place that man can go and not know that he is. "If I take the wings of the morning and fly to the uttermost parts of the earth thou art there", I know that I Am.

"If I make my bed in Hell"- I know that I AM. If I should suffer from amnesia and completely forget my human identity I will still know that I AM. It is impossible for man to know that he is not. You can say I AM not that, but you cannot say I AM not, for your very knowing is a declaration that you are.
